Sustainable AI: Beyond the Hype and Towards Responsibility

I recently had the opportunity to be a guest on a podcast at Université Paris-Saclay 🎙️ to discuss a topic I am deeply passionate about: Sustainable AI.

In an era where the focus is almost exclusively on making models bigger and "smarter," we often overlook the environmental and ethical cost of that progress. My journey—moving from India to Paris, working at Stellantis, and now diving deep into AI Research—has made one thing clear: the way we build and deploy AI today will define the world the next generation inherits.

Introducing DaMoOps

My current research focuses on DaMoOps, a framework designed for sustainable cloud data modeling. It explores how organizations can transition to making smarter, greener data decisions on the cloud.

The goal is simple but urgent: Sustainability should never be optional.

Key Takeaways:

  • The "At What Cost?" Question: Moving beyond accuracy metrics to include carbon footprint and energy efficiency.
  • Cloud Transformation: How DaMoOps helps in optimizing data management operations for a greener future.
  • Global Voice: The importance of early-career researchers advocating for responsible tech.

Thank you to the podcast team for the invitation and for providing a platform for these critical conversations. 🌍
